Wear is She Wednesday: Morgan

Between her fabulous golden curls and her radiant smile, Morgan is like the human embodiment of sunshine. I discovered her YouTube channel last year and was instantly hooked by her cool girl vibes and penchant for blending various styles to create one that's uniquely hers. Read on to fall just as hard for Morgan yourself, and to learn about her thoughts on existentialism, Stevie Nicks and Little Women.

Hi Morgan, please introduce your wonderful self.

Hi I’m Morgan! I currently live on Long Island in New York and I’m finishing up my last semester of my Bachelors degree in English. So yeah, just casually going through an existential crisis of what I’m doing with my life- no big deal!

1. How would you describe your style?

This is such a hard question. I’d say it’s like a mix of casual-western-grandma-art teacher-classic-bohemian. I love feeling really classic with a pair of Levi's and a t-shirt or blouse. But, then the next day I’m wearing 80’s gold earrings and a colorful vintage dress. It changes all the time and I stay open to inspiration wherever it is, whether it’s from colors in nature or from a character in a book or movie. When I’m thrifting, I’m drawn towards a piece and I just work it into my wardrobe.

2. Where are your favorite places to shop and why?

I’ve been thrifting as long as I can remember and there is nothing like it. I’m addicted to that feeling when I’m about to walk inside and have no idea what I could find. I just love the hunt and the freedom of wearing whatever calls to me. You’re also not saturated with trends or what everyone else is wearing, so your able to listen to your inner voice and have fun!

3. How did you discover your personal style or are you still discovering it?

I’m always inspired by things around me. Whether it be my moms style in the 80’s (so mad at her for not keeping her old clothes- she had the most amazing cowboy boots), or watching Sex and the City and being in awe of Carrie Bradshaw or the Bohemian Queen herself, Stevie Nicks. I’m also inspired by my younger self! I wore these amazing flowy blouses, flare jeans, beautiful skirts and this incredible poncho that I wish I still had. I love making something my own, and mixing vintage with more modern or casual pieces. I feel like I will always be discovering my style as I grow and evolve.

4. Do you have any current favorites?

I love Taylor Swifts new album! I also love Pia’s Pod and The Girl Boss Podcast. And I’m so excited to watch the film adaptations of Little Women and The Goldfinch, two of my favorite books!

5. Aside from style, what other hobbies or interests do you have?

Does cuddling and watching Netflix with my boyfriend count? We also love cooking and eating good food! I love being in nature; Long Island has such beautiful beaches and state parks! I also love yoga and my cats!

6. And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What’s something you’re really proud of right now?

Might seem silly, but I’m really proud that I’ve been putting myself ‘out there’ recently. I’m quite shy and private but I’ve always wanted to create a Youtube channel and I finally did it. It has been such a fun creative outlet and I love being part of a community of such amazing and unique women.
