Hi Sophia, Please introduce your wonderful self.

Hey! I’m Sophia! I’m originally from Portland Oregon where I lived for 18 years. I moved to LA for 2 years and now I currently live in Charlotte North Carolina. During the pandemic I was working at a grocery store as a florist. Though I really enjoyed the creative outlet that job provided, I knew that I didn't want to work a minimum wage 9 to 5 anymore so I started working on my fashion/beauty blog on Instagram. When I first started focusing on Instagram, I never expected it would take off. I was just hoping for a little side income from collaborations I found with brands so I wouldn’t have to work as much front- line during Covid. I’m so glad I can say I now earn a full time living sharing my style with the world!

How would you describe your personal style?

I would mainly describe my style as heavily influenced by street style. I’ve gone through an evolution of tons of different styles, but street always remains at the core. Whether I go edgy, girly, minimalistic, or classy I like to add a little street twist!

Who or what are your current biggest style inspirations?

My current biggest style inspiration is and always has been the world around me. I’ve found a lot of my fashion inspiration through traveling across America and spending time in big fashion cities like LA, NYC, and Atlanta. I really just like to people watch and get inspired by other people’s creativity. I love seeing someone walking down the street rocking a clothing combo I would have never thought of! It really sparks so much inspiration inside of me for new outfits.

How did you discover your personal style or are you still discovering it?

I’m definitely always going to be discovering and evolving my style. Fashion and music have been two of my biggest outlets of expression growing up, so when I was first discovering my style, I pulled a lot of inspiration from the music I listened to. First, I just dressed like the 90s R&B and Pop singers that I grew up idolizing. Then I started obsessing over street style once I started listening to more hip-hop. Now I listen to all different types of music and my fashion style is all over the map, so it’s safe to say my personal style is ever- evolving.

What's on your thrift list right now?

I'm obsessed with thrifting. I’m currently in the market for a neutral tone skin tight turtleneck, a nice oversized flannel, and a basic white oversized blouse. Each of these statement pieces are perfect for layering during fall and are all common items in any thrift store. Fall fashion is my favorite because layering is such an easy way to make any outfit look sophisticated. For example a turtleneck under a hoodie with a flannel on top is such a simple way to elevate a casual outfit!

What's your go to midnight snack?

My go to midnight snack is anything sweet! I’m usually a savory girl, but for some reason in the middle of the night I have a crazy sweet tooth!

And the bonus question I like to ask everyone before they go: What's something you're really proud of right now?

I’m just really proud of myself for making it this far in life! I didn’t go the traditional route as far as getting a degree and going into a 9-5 job. I worked really hard to be able to do what I love despite people telling me it would never work. There’s a lot to be proud of within that, but if probably say overall, I’m proud I don’t give up!

Where else can we find you Sophia?

You can find me on Instagram @sophia.hc! That’s where I’m most active and all my other socials are linked in my bio as well.
